How to monitor the dark web on NordProtect?

NordProtect offers dark web monitoring to help protect your personal information, from your email address to your SSN (Social Security Number). It scans hidden online marketplaces for compromised information and alerts you if your data is at risk, enabling quick action to help secure your digital identity.

 

Dark web monitoring can detect such incident types, as leaked databases, stolen accounts, leaked credentials, and malware attacks. Here’s an example:



Note: the malware breach alerts are available only with the  Platinum subscription.

If you wish to scan the dark web for potentially exposed personal information, follow these steps: 

  1. Log in to your NordProtect account.
  2. Then, press the dark web monitoring button located in the upper-left section:



  3. If you have no added assets to monitor, you will see the following:



  4. After adding assets to monitor, come back to the dark web monitoring tab and press start scanning:



  5. After the breach scan is done, you will be able to see which data was compromised. Press the show more button to access more information.



  6. You will then be presented with information regarding your compromised data: the incident type, detection date, compromised data points, what information was leaked, risk severity, and steps on how to proceed further:



  7. If you wish to check compromised information, press the reveal leaked data button:



  8. Once the appropriate mitigation steps are completed, scroll down and press the mark as resolved button to clear it from the list:
